20140118_170404Seeing these, I was expecting Milk Duds, or something with a rather dry “milk” flavored interior.  My only experience with Lindt thus far, have been the little truffle balls, bought at fabric stores as a last minute impulse buy.  They were always dry and dull flavored, but I suspect that is due to the location they were purchased from.  One of these days, I will have to purchase them from a store, for a fresher comparison.  I was pretty apprehensive.  I first cracked them open after I had arrived at my hotel room for the 501st Legion Midwest Garrison Annual Banquet (the background is the decorative runner at the Embassy Suites), and that had been a rather bad day, so I probably would have eaten several of them regardless of how they tasted.  However, I was very pleasantly surprised.

20140118_170414The filling was very tasty, and while I would not have identified the flavor as milk, I probably would have identified it as caramel, or maybe some sort of butter cream.  These were extremely delicious, and very creamy.  The taste was very sweet, and it paired well with the chocolate shells.  Each piece was individually wrapped, which definitely slowed the devouring process.  It was nice though, because a couple fell out in my luggage and I found them a few weeks later.
