The photos of the Soma Almonds also disappeared, so here is the preview photo again:
I actually delayed eating these, because I was a little afraid of them. I like almonds, I eat almonds, but I generally do not eat chocolate covered almonds. Especially lately, because I broke two teeth in a months time last year (one of which I have yet to have repaired). I had thrown these in my circus bag ages ago, but would always forget they were there, or would find something else to munch on. When I finally took the plunge and opened them, I was very pleasantly surprised.
Looking at the almonds, they seemed to only have a light dusting of chocolate. However, the chocolate has a powdered finish that make them look a little less chocolatey than they are. Here is one of the almonds with the tip of the chocolate bitten off to show just how much chocolate is covering them.
Luckily, I took this picture only last week, so it survived where the others did not. There is a rather thick layer of chocolate, and it is very complimentary to the almond flavor. I ended up polishing off the bag over a few days of circus while on my way to and from class. I really liked them, and was rather disappointed when I finished the bag.
Packaging: 4/5 – I like the bag, and it was resealable. 😀
Chocolate Presentation: 4/5 – Deceptive, but still attractive.
Taste: 5/5 – Very good. I am still not fully converted to nutty chocolates, but I would buy these again.
